The Corporate Performance Awards, in partnership with MarketMeter and the Australian Shareholders Association, highlight the top-performing ASX 100 companies based on votes from around 100 institutional investors. Juliette Saly presents the findings, revealing that credibility and CEO effectiveness are key criteria for fund managers when selecting investments. Companies are ranked against 28 different benchmarks, with leadership stability and clear execution of strategy being highly valued.

Among the top ten in the value and investment category are Car Group (ASX:CAR), Goodman Group (ASX:GMG), Xero (ASX:XRO), Light & Wonder, IAG (ASX:IAG), REA Group (ASX:REA), CSL Limited (ASX:CSL), ResMed (ASX:RMD), Vicinity Centres (ASX:VCX) and JB Hi-Fi (ASX:JBH). Jai Mirchandani from Elm Responsible Investments and Richard McDougall from Hamilton12 note consistency in strategy and management as crucial to these companies’ high rankings. IAG is particularly highlighted for disciplined delivery, robust technology investments, and proactive risk management, claiming that recent AI adoption has improved efficiency and customer service.

REA Group stands out as best company overall, with CFO Janelle Hopkins attributing success to transparent communications, a strong executive team, and focused innovation. Hopkins points to ESG, especially governance, as pivotal for long-term investor confidence and sustainability, aligning with views from both institutional panel members.
