Focus on commercial execution and growth for BCAL Diagnostics (ASX:BDX)Expansion of early detection liquid biopsy tests for breast, pancreatic and ovarian cancerNew infrastructure, Sonic Healthcare collection centres and referral networks underpin rollout
BCAL Diagnostics (ASX:BDX) CEO Anne-Louise Arnett outlines an ambitious commercial growth strategy for the company, focused on scaling early cancer detection tests in Australia and internationally. Arnett views the company’s in-house BreasTest Plus liquid biopsy and recently acquired pancreatic and ovarian cancer tests, via a partnership with ClearNote, as a differentiated portfolio targeting cancers that are often diagnosed late.
Over the past 12 months, Arnett describes BCAL Diagnostics as undergoing a transformation, with new infrastructure, distribution networks and referral pathways being put in place to support commercial rollout. Agreements with Sonic Healthcare for collection centres are seen as pivotal in enabling market access and clinician adoption. Near-term priorities, in Arnett’s view, centre on executing the launch of BreasTest Plus version two, targeted around September–October, while driving uptake of the existing breast, pancreatic and ovarian tests already available.
Arnett stresses that her key metric is growth, driven by commercial execution, clinician engagement and patient accessibility. She highlights the Early Detection platform as a way to inform consumers and doctors that these tests exist and can be requested. While AI use is still at an early stage, Arnett expects it to become part of BCAL Diagnostics’ journey to improve efficiency and support product performance over time.
